Ahead of the release, the new version of Carlisle's current single, "You and Me on the Rock (In the Foggy Canyon)" featuring his wife, Catherine Carlyle, will be released today.

Earlier today, Carlisle and her band debuted on NBC's "TODAY Show" "Citi Concert Series" and performed "Broken Horses" and "You And Me On The Rock" as well as fan favorites, "The Joke" and "The Story.

About the new project, Carlile shares

"I knew I wanted to give our fans more than just a regular 'extra track' that always seemed like a creative way to ask fans to buy your album twice! So we locked ourselves up in the attic studio in my barn just like the old days...and reimagined our entire record.

Inspired by the past few years that changed the years of "Johnny Games," I conjured up images from the infamous music scene in Laurel Canyon.

I could see the crew of California Dreamers with embroidered flowers and peace signs on their backs wandering through the Polaroid haze. I can smell marijuana and incense. I could hear CSN tunes traveling through the valley from Lookout Mountain and the laughter accompanying Mama Cass.

I could hear the echo of old wood and dulcimer playing like a drum. The familiar chord progressions, confessions, and collective spirit that would generate timeless songs... the songs we all wish we had written. I could feel liberation, friction, and liberation from modern digital distractions that laid fertile ground at the feet of West Coast poets and troubadours.”

Carlisle is currently in the midst of its 'Beyond These Silent Days' main tour with upcoming shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado (2 nights), TD Garden in Boston, Madison Square Garden in New York, and many more.

These Silent Days are inspired by the exploration of Carlyle's history while writing last year's New York Times bestseller memoir, Broken Horses (The Crown). Of the album, Variety praises, "Carlyle slips easily between octaves while, in a way, still sounds quite modern—the everyday singer we didn't know we needed until she showed up at our door.

a powerful vocal tour," while Billboard asserts that " The passion that Carlisle channels is an unbridled, unfettered joy in the face of tough times—the subtle reinforcement of positivity that will make you want to listen over and over again," declares Vulture, "one of the biggest voices in the genre." The album also appeared on the "Best of 2021" charts on NPR Music, Variety, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, SPIN, USA Today, and.

In the months following the release, the six-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, producer, and New York Times bestselling author made her first appearance as a musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (performing "Broken Horses" and "Right On Time"), returned to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to guest host and debut "You And Me On The Rock", and made his "This Time Tomorrow" debut on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

" She also performed "Right On Time" during the 64th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year, where the song was nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Plus, last November, Carlisle performed Mitchell's legendary blue album entirely at Carnegie Hall. Among the shows that sold out, Billboard declared, "Exceptional concert ... better take this homage but Carlyle, who carried Mitchell's still glowing torch, as one of the best songwriters and singers of this era.

These Silent Days follows Carlisle's 2018 Grammy-winning album, By the Way, I Forgive You, which Rolling Stone announced, "...Adele meets Joni Mitchell's Power Tour.

In the years that followed—in addition to collaborative projects with Elton John, The High women, Tanya Tucker, Soundgarden, Alicia Keys, Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Leslie Jordan, Brandy Clark, and more—she received six Grammy Awards in recognition of her work as an award-winning artist and songwriter.
