Arnold began performing in 1997. He sang at the Montreal Canadian Comedy Festival, on Jamie Foxx presenting Laffapalooza (Comedy Central) with Jamie Foxx and Cedric the Entertainer, The Tom Joyner Show, Baseden After Dark, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, ComicView Show ( BET), Mo'Nique Show (BET), Entourage (HBO), and Def Comedy Jam.
His family confirmed his death
"It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of our husband, father, brother, and friend David A. Arnold," his family said in a statement published in the Los Angeles Times.
David passed away peacefully today at his home, and doctors judged the cause of death to be of natural causes.
"Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time, as we are shocked and devastated by this loss."

Arnold was married to his wife, Julie L Harkness, who is pictured together, with whom they had two children, Anna Grace and Ashlyn.
He had posted a video of one of his comic strips on Instagram just hours before his family announced his death.
David wrote: "I will never forget the day my oldest wife and I decided whom to send to the nursing home."
This sparked sad comments from friends and supporters below. His death has not yet been announced on his social media pages or website.
The comedian and writer began his career at the Montreal Comedy Festival and appeared in Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza.
David has released two Netflix stand-up specials during his career. In 2019, David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina was released and in July of this year it released It Ain't For The Weak.
He also created the show That Girl Lay Lay and served as executive producer and showrunner on it.
Working on the Fuller House reboot as a writer and producer, he has also done shows including Meet The Browns and Tyler Perry's House of Payne.
Arnold was married to his wife, Julie L Harkness, with whom he had two children, Anna Grace and Ashlyn.
