Thunderbolts Movie 2024 The Thunderbolts lineup is officially revealed in the MCU The Thunderbolts will play Black Widow's Florence Pugh, reprising her scene-stealing role as Yelena Belova. Not only will she team up with Stan Winter Soldier, but she'll also be joined by David Harbor's Red Guardian and Mission Director Olga Kurylenko, also from BW, US Agent for Wyatt Russell, and Hannah John Kamen's Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp.

During a Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con in July, the official MCU Phase 5 lineup was announced, with Thunderbolts set to go offline in the summer of 2024. However, the initial news did not include the cast.

Fans have been chatting about the Thunderbolts slate for some time, and now we have it! On Saturday's Marvel Panel at the D23 Expo, the MCU lineup was named and Sebastian Stan Winter Soldier was among an exciting new team featuring more returning faces.

Who are the six team members?

At D23, the photo above shows all six team members along with Yelena of Florence Bowie in the center, David Harbors's Red Guardian photo to her immediate right, and Stan Bucky to her left, with the rest of the team around them. While nearly all of the cast were on stage, Pugh wasn't able to join them, but she appeared via a quick video message to Marvel fans sharing her excitement for the upcoming Marvel movie.

As we learned a few months ago, Thunderbolts will be directed by Robot & Frank and Jake Schreier from Paper Town from a screenplay by Black Widow writer Eric Pearson. Many comic book fans have confirmed that the team is Marvel's equivalent of DC's Suicide Squad as evidenced by some of the team's villains and heroes.

Thunderbolt release date for the upcoming Marvel movie

This is the team that Marvel has been hinting at and has been building for some time, especially during 2021's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Black Widow. The next Marvel movie will be released on July 26, 2024, two months after Captain America: New World Order launched its summer season that year. At the end of 2024, Marvel Phase 6 will begin with the Fantastic Four before the release of two Avengers films, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, in 2025.

The Marvel Comics team was created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley and debuted in 1997 in The Incredible Hulk #449. There have been several versions of Thunderbolts, but it was originally formed by Baron Zemo, with Black Widow, Winter Soldier, and other heroes, such as Hawkeye who has led the team over the years.

Before the movie drops, there are six movies ahead, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at number one and ending the year and Marvel Stage 4, which also focused on Dora Milaje footage around D23. With that said, there are only less than two years left before Thunderbolts, so let the countdown to the return of Winter Soldier and Yelena begin.
